Onverwacht Game Lodge is a well established game ranch which was first registered in 1843. The new owner Onverwacht Pty. Ltd. acquired this beautiful plot in 2003. Since the acquisition, extensive improvements on every aspect have been undertaken with the emphasis being to retain and not disturb the original character of the ranch.

An important part in keeping with the ecological fundamental idea of the reserve was to generate all the electricity from solar energy. The entire water supply originates from springs and wells, this being of the highest quality and taste.
